Aplicações e desafios da Inteligência Artificial na prevenção e diagnóstico de doenças oculares
Resumo
A inteligência artificial (IA) transforma setores, especialmente a saúde e a oftalmologia. Imagens médicas são cruciais para diagnóstico e tratamento de doenças oculares. Com avanços nas técnicas de imagem e terapias, aumentou-se a compreensão das patologias oculares, gerando muitos dados complexos. Este trabalho discute as aplicações da IA na oftalmologia, focando na triagem, diagnóstico e monitoramento de doenças oculares. A coleta de dados foi realizada em outubro de 2024, utilizando as bases de dados MEDLINE e LILACS. A busca foi direcionada pelos seguintes descritores em inglês: "ophthalmology," "artificial intelligence," "glaucoma," e "Diabetic Retinopathy," combinados por meio do operador booleano "AND" para refinar os resultados. Com o progresso constante na investigação e na tecnologia, a inteligência artificial tem a capacidade de se transformar em um recurso fundamental na oftalmologia contemporânea. Todavia, para que a IA realmente traga uma revolução ao setor e proporcione vantagens significativas e justas, é fundamental que sua aplicação seja respaldada por regulamentações eficazes, princípios éticos e formação adequada dos profissionais envolvidos.
