Síndrome de Cri-du-Chat nos livros do PNLD de 2024.

Esta pesquisa analisou a presença da Síndrome de Cri-du-Chat (SCDC), doença genética rara causada por deleção parcial no cromossomo 5, nos livros didáticos de Ciências aprovados pelo Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD) de 2024. O estudo teve como objetivo verificar como a síndrome é abordada nesses materiais e, diante das lacunas identificadas, produzir um recurso educativo complementar. A metodologia utilizada consistiu em uma pesquisa exploratória com abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa, que avaliou dez coleções disponíveis por meio de critérios relacionados a conteúdo, linguagem, imagens ilustrativas e atividades de aprendizagem, classificados em quatro níveis de qualidade. Os resultados revelaram ausência total de menções à SCDC nos livros analisados, com classificação “ruim” em todos os critérios, evidenciando falhas significativas no ensino de genética humana quanto à inclusão de doenças raras. Para suprir essa lacuna foi elaborado um material didático em formato de história em quadrinhos, com o intuito de promover a conscientização, inclusão escolar e social de pessoas com a síndrome. Conclui-se que a invisibilidade da SCDC nos livros didáticos compromete tanto a formação científica quanto a reflexão crítica e cidadã dos estudantes, reforçando a necessidade de revisão dos critérios de avaliação do PNLD e da incorporação de conteúdos que contemplem a diversidade genética e social.
